The RTX 5070 Super: The Card Everyone Should Actually Buy

Fourteen days of testing, 31 benchmark runs, and one melted display cable later — here's the verdict, on film and in writing. The video shows you the numbers; the article shows you why they matter for a real build, not a spreadsheet.

01

The Benchlog take

It isn't the fastest card of the generation, and it isn't the cheapest. It's the one I'd tell my own brother to buy — after the 14-day test, the thermals simply never gave me a reason to look higher.

Benchmarks

Measured runs from the video and the Benchlog desk — not spreadsheet vibes.

All game tests below are run at native 1440p, high or ultra presets, no frame generation, with upscaling disabled unless the game requires it for ray tracing. We repeat each run three times and throw out obvious shader-compile nonsense.

Bench noteThe 5070 Super's real win is not peak FPS. It is consistency. The 1% lows are close enough to the average that the card feels calmer than the chart suggests.
04

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Sweet-spot 1440p performance without chasing halo SKUs
  • Quiet under sustained loads after a sensible undervolt
  • Enough VRAM headroom for modern upscalers and mods

Cons

  • MSRP still assumes street price will behave
  • Not a 4K max-settings card without DLSS
  • Founders cooler is fine — partner cards vary wildly
